Men Wedding Bands

You’re right – there is a new trend of men wearing engagement rings! My mom is a manager at a jewellery store…

My fiance has an engagement ring. It’s a quite plain, 2 tone gold band with a really tiny diamond set into the metal. I know quite a few guys that wear them. They wear the engagement ring until their married (on their ring finger, left hand), then after the wedding they wear the wedding band on their left hand and the engagement ring on their right.

Why shouldn’t guys have engagement rings if they want to?! It’s unfair that the girl gets all the good stuff

It is not necessarily just wedding bands.. anything that is evident that they are emotionally and physically unavailable. The women who are attracted to such men have deep seated issues that involve trust and commitment. At some point in their life they were either abandoned or were mislead in a direction that caused them to lose a part of their emotional stability to a point that now they avoid any attachment that could possibly become permanent. It is actually a fascinating study to read about, you wouldn’t imagine the lengths that some of these women would go to to achieve non-commitment.

What are the pros and cons of both stainless steel and Titanium? Do you know anything about either metal?

Would a white-gold band be a better option?

They are very very different. As for stainless steel, I bet you mean sterling silver. Either way don’t go with something that cheap. It’s your wedding band. You want it to last.

Titanium is completely different all together. It’s very rugged and holds up best in salt water. I love the look of it. Titanium has some advantages. It won’t irritate sensitive skin or cause breakouts. Titanium is resistant to decay. A ring made from titanium will last longer than one made from metals such as gold or silver. It is also very light weight. However it cannot be resized so if he gains a lot of weight over the next 30 years, you’ll need to buy a new ring. Also, in case of emergency it can’t be cut off. That’s important if your husband works in an industry that uses his hands a lot.

Personally I’d go with white gold. The main thing is that eventually you will have to get the white gold redipped. It will start to wear off after a while and become yellow gold. But really every 5 years or so is not that big a deal. Platinum is better if you can afford it. White gold is classic and will never go out of style.
