At the same time? Do men even wear engagement rings? Also who is supposed to buy the mans engagment ring?
I’ve never heard of a man’s engagement ring, but in this day and age with women proposing to men and same-sex marriage, I suppose there is such a thing now.
Traditionally, the man proposes to the woman and gives HER an engagement ring. While she may give him an engagement gift, it is usually a watch or some other token.
Usually the engagement ring is part of a set made to be worn with the wedding band. The bride’s wedding band may match the groom’s band, but sometimes they are picked out separately. Generally speaking, the groom’s band is plainer, less ornate. This is done maybe to save $$, maybe because of his taste, or if he does a lot of work with his hands, to keep it simple so he won’t ruin it.
Some men don’t even wear wedding rings–but if I were the wife of one of those, I’m sorry, but I would be suspicious!

Most men prefer a very simple wedding band. You don’t need to pay more than $200.

My friends can’t decide whether to wear their rings on their left hands or their right hands.
It is a matter of choice. My lesbian opinion is that wedding bands should be worn on the same hand as a straight couple. We are already have many things dictated to us by straight society. We have the same rights as straight couples. Although we are not married, my partner and I wear matching bands on our left hands
In the year 2008, do you agree it is still like this? What do you think about a man requesting that his wife wears her rings at all times (week-ends at home too!!!??) but he doesn’t have to? What do you think of a man who says he will stop wearing his wedding ring in public, if the wife doesn’t wear her rings in private too, just for revenge? To me, that’s ridiculous and so "passé". To him, it’s the double standard that he sees as being the right thing. What are your thoughts? When was it ever like this (this double standard)?
OMG, this is too funny. I hadn’t actually thought about it, but yes, I wear my wedding ring 24/7 and he goes without. With his job, he’s not allowed to wear one because he works with "480 V" of electricity, so it would be dangerous. Anyway, he doesn’t wear it when he comes home because it’s gotten a bit "snug" (he says it’s really hard to put it on and off, which is true) and we haven’t had it resized or bought new ones. Anyway, I mentioned to him just now that since he doesn’t wear his, I’m not going to wear mine. OMG! His reaction, too funny! I asked if he would feel hurt if I didn’t wear it, and he said, "No. But that doesn’t matter because you are." Meaning he would be, lol. Anyway, some of my single friends get hit on ALL THE TIME, which I complained about because I never get hit on (not to cheat, just to see if I still have it) and she says that I and my husband both give the "I’m taken" vibe, so I guess that works. Plus, my husband works in what is a mostly male environment. Anyway, interesting subject!
what is the best way to get a ring for my future husband? i dont really have money and would like to do things like pay monthly or something, do they do that??? or what is the best way to go about this, place, etc so I doon’t get scammed either and don’t end up overpaying….
A man’s wedding band can be very affordable. We got my fiance’s on sale for about $110.
If you would still need to make payments, and cannot save up for a hundred or so dollars, I would suggest you check out www.ice.com – - they offer payment plans.
